AI Community
Workshops & Events

We are a school that actively puts its students at the centre of everything we do. Students are encouraged through our AI community workshops & events. With this intention, our members create collaborative projects and support each other with advice and ideas.

All things considered, our long-term AI community workshops, events and projects enables us to empower & involve members whilst enacting change on an industry level.

At this point in time just 19% of roles are filled by women, across the tech industry. Less than 9% are at a senior level and less than 0.5% at an executive level. With this in mind, companies are not currently building diverse teams that can scale effectively.

For this purpose, AI Core is restlessly taking matters into their own hands to create a new generation of tech talent. To begin with, we have partnered with St Paul’s Girls’ School to develop an AI curriculum to educate teenage girls. Undoubtedly, this is our first step in helping solve the gender bias problem from its roots.

  • Women in AI to address that across the tech industry, just 19% of roles are filled by women.
  • Ethics in AI to address ethical implications of building AI.

Open Hacking

Twice a week we meet up for open sessions where members can meet people, share project ideas, get code help, or just hang out.

On the whole, everyone participates and builds interesting projects together, putting into practice what was learnt in the workshops – a practical process, further developing skills and increasing employability.
